Diarrhea ... How To Slow It Down
Diarrhea is caused by an overabundance of fluid entering the intestinal tract.
It is the way that your dog's body removes toxins and waste material quickly.
It is actually a great defense mechanism. Could cause malasbsorption and severe dehydration.
Commercial pet food usually includes things like animal/ poultry fat that causes diarrhea.
Too much carbohydrates can cause the runs.
Also the 4 D's. See one of my earlier newsletter on Dead, Diseased, Disabled or Dying.
Other things that cause diarrhea - your dog get the runs right after his vaccinations, taking drugs, food poisoning or worms.
Ways to get rid of it:
- Fasting
- Switching To A
Homemade Diet
- Enzymes
- Parasite Treatment
- Diarrhea Relief
Don't feed your dog for 24 hours after the onset of diarrhea. Then slowly feed 2 parts brown rice to 1 part meat and small amounts every 4 hours for 2 days.
Walking your dog twice a day sometimes stimulates a part of the nervous system that will calm the gut down.
Best advice is to encourage your pet to drink plenty of water, restrict salt intake and let nature take its course for his diarrhea.
