May 8, 2010 .... Issue #035 - Tick Or Lyme Disease Season!

Does Your Dog Have Symptoms Of Lyme Disease From Them Nasty Ticks?

Lyme disease is a rare but often reported tick-borne infection in the joints that create lameness.

Started in Europe in the early 1900's. It has been called Lyme Disease in this country since 1975, where it was first known to cause arthritis in children in Old Lyme, Connecticut.

Symptoms in dogs:

  • Fever

  • Depression

  • Hot and Painful Joints

  • Lethargic

  • Unsteady On One's Feet

  • Needing More Sleep

  • Appetite Loss

  • Weight Loss

  • Muscle Mass Loss

  • Whites Of The Eyes Become Yellowish

At the time of tick season, it is smart to check you dog regularly; and if you do find a tick, use a tweezers and throw the tick into a jar with rubbing alcohol to kill it. Flushing it down the toilet does not work.

Prevention is better than the cure.

Making sure your dog gets his nutritional needs met should be your number one priority. It is time to start cooking for your dog to keep him healthy.

If you dog is healthy with a strong immune system, the nasty ticks will not even attach to your dog.

Any time a dog has a fever, it is wise to fast them for a few days.

By improving the red blood cell integrity, immunity and liver functioning in your dog, you will take care of your dog's Lyme Disease.
